Twiva has once again cemented its position as a leader in the industry by winning the Social Commerce Award at the global level. Competing against top social commerce platforms worldwide, Twiva emerged as a frontrunner in a rapidly evolving digital retail landscape.

The accolade was awarded at the 7th Annual International Pacesetters Awards, held at the prestigious Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi. Recognized as one of the highest honors in the industry, the Pacesetters Awards celebrate technological innovation and excellence across multiple sectors. Winners are selected based on comprehensive industry research and expert insights.

This achievement marks Twiva’s fourth industry recognition this year. Earlier in 2024, Twiva won the Best Social Commerce Award for the Middle East and Africa region at the Middle East & Africa Business Awards.

Twiva’s CEO & Co-founder, Peter N. Kironji, expressed his pride, saying, “This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of our founders and management. We are revolutionizing retail in Africa by digitizing market access for MSMEs and fostering trust in a $500 billion industry. By integrating social experiences with e-commerce, Twiva offers a seamless path from discovery to purchase.”

As Kenya’s first and fastest-growing social commerce platform, Twiva is home to a community of over 11,000 influencers and more than 2,500 businesses, drawing hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors. This growth comes at a pivotal moment when traditional e-commerce platforms struggle to sustain momentum.

Twiva’s success aligns with the findings of a Digital Economy Report by Dalberg, a global advisory firm. The report shows an increasing trend of retailers and shoppers gravitating toward platforms that allow direct engagement and payment options on delivery—strategies that are core to Twiva’s approach. With only 13% of Kenyans using e-commerce platforms, the market offers Twiva a significant growth opportunity.

Twiva’s model leverages influencers to market and sell products directly to their communities, offering a range of categories, including Electronics, Home Appliances, Fashion, and Health & Beauty.

Grace Gikonyo who heads Twiva’s PR & Marketing, expressed her gratitude for the recognition saying,”This award underscores our commitment to delivering top-quality solutions for users, resellers, and businesses. We owe this success to our community of users and partners thank you for trusting us to lead the future of social commerce in Africa.”
